The longer version of me:

* I am divorced with two children. My children have a mild form of autism known as Asperger's Syndrome. They are normal, high functioning, and you probably wouldn't know they had this if I didn't mention anything about it. No, I don't know how they developed it, as it's not something that runs in either family, but they are who they are and despite the label, I love them both.
* I am in a relationship with somebody I've loved for almost half of my life, and no I am not looking to date.
* I am, however, looking to make more friends.

* I have a personal website, http://www.jeisenne.net and yes, it will always be under construction.
* I love human anatomy and biology, and I love to watch science and medical shows. I'm also a fan the Discovery and History channels. I geek out quite often.
* I am still working on finishing out my nursing degree. I am starting out slow because I do devote plenty of time to my boys, so I can be found doing all my prereqs the cheap and easy way at Miramar College. I plan to transfer to SDSU for my BSN.
* I was a teenage model overseas. Yeah you'd never know it by looking at me now, but it's part of who I am, even if it's a part of my life I outgrew ages and ages ago. Someday when I want to talk about it more I'll post what few pictures I was able to salvage.
* I was on my high school small flag/letterette team. So I did halftime shows with the marching band. When people make jokes that start of with, "One day, in band camp..." I can totally relate.
* I played two instruments in high school. Flute and saxophone. I played only during the spring season, aka symphonic or concert band, because during marching season (fall) I was wearing some stupid glittery miniskirt and leotard twirling flags around the field (see above).
* I used to write. A lot. Writing has always been very theraputic for me. I've only been paid for a couple of writing assignments, and I only had one job that involved my ability to creatively string together text. I was a technical writer. I was the person that helped write a lot of user manuals and FAQ sections that would piss people off because they wouldn't read them.
* I play World of Warcraft. Good Gods, how much geekier can you get than that?
* I like to get into my car and drive. I don't always have a destination, but I have a strong sense of wanderlust.
* I am very bad about returning phone calls to my friends. I think I gabbed enough in high school and have developed a strong aversion to the telephone.
* I recycle. It's a small part of me, along with the nurse, that wants to save the world. Yeah I know that sounds stupid since I drive a v6 Rodeo, but I only use that to haul the kids and their shit around. Other than that, I drive my gas efficient Miata for most of my errands. Yes people who drive v8 trucks and SUVs in San Diego annoy me, mostly because 99% of them don't go offroad or haul anything. People who drive Escalades, Suburbans, Hummers, etc. annoy me. Save yourself some gas, quit wallowing in your extravagant excesses, and trade that shit in for a hybrid or a Mini Cooper. You'll save a bundle in gas, you'll save the earth, and you'll look a lot cooler in a Mini.
* I grew up in San Diego, even though I've lived in a few other cities for a couple of years here and there growing up, but this expensive stinkin' town is still my home town, and I hope someday to move to a place that has trees, seasonal weather, and reasonable gas and rent prices.

What this journal is about:

Ever hear of self medicating? Well this is my form of therapy, one way I like to unwind and go over the boring details of my mundane life. If you read my journal it's probably some of the most boring shit you'll ever see, but I like to look back on things I wrote and see how I've made progress with my personal life. This is a record of my journey. For those that befriend me and comment occasionally, thank you for sharing the ride.
